![]() On May 8, 2023, Netflix announced the official release date for Painkiller. ![]() Here’s everything you need to know about Painkiller on Netflix! Netflix Painkiller release date It’s going to be an impactful and entertaining binge-watch this summer. Uzo Aduba, Matthew Broderick, and Taylor Kitsch team up for the high-profile Netflix limited series about the opioid crisis in America and based on both a book and a major magazine articles. Painkiller rips its plot from the pages of a hit book and from the headlines, and there’s no doubt it will be one of the best Netflix shows of the year. I just hope the competition isn’t too much and at least some of these films thrive in theaters.A new limited series premieres on Netflix this summer, and it’s full of talented stars that will have us binge-watching every episodes. There are even some documentaries ( Combat Obscura and The Eyes of Orson Welles) and foreign-language films ( Ash is Purest White and Iceman). This includes some made for mainstream appeal ( Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase and No Manches Frida 2) as well as more art house fair ( The Mustang and Starfish). It’s a good week for limited releases with a lot of different films. Limited and VOD Releases: Which Limited Releases Will Crack the Case of the Box Office? Amazing Grace was next with an average of $14,674 in eight theaters. High Life led the way on the theater average chart earning an average of $24,835 in four theaters. Theater Averages: High Life Reaches High Heights That said, I’m going to award Frankie Drake Mysteries with Puck of the Week for best Canadian release. The screener arrived late, but I finally got the review of the Blu-ray online. However, the biggest and best release of the week is Captain Marvel. Unfortunately, the list of Pick of the Week contenders is rather short with just Megalobox: Season One and Frankie Drake Mysteries: Season Two, both of which are worth owning. I had to trim some of them to keep the list manageable. There’s no monster hit to talk about, but there are a mountain of new releases that are selling well enough that they could have been featured in the main list and about twice as many that could have been included in the Secondary Blu-ray release. It is an absolute nightmare on the home market. The bold credits above the line are the "above-the-line" credits, the other the "below-the-line" credits.
